Dogs are such fascinating creatures. Though they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, the one physicality they all have in common are their whiskers! To celebrate this opulent, but overlooked feature, this month’s poem is all about the wonders of whiskers!
Whiskers
By Katie Gilstrap
The whiskers on your chinny chin,
those fringes on your face,
though random in their growth,
are hardly ever out of place.
They wiggle when you lick your lips
and bobble when you chew.
They dangle from your dog mole
in impressive sets of two.
They make you look distinguished
and I think, without a doubt,
they add a touch of whimsy
to your great and gorgeous snout!
